Atlanta, GA: Ohio based United Television, the producers of Gospel Superfest announced its official line up for Gospel Superfest “Live In Atlanta” Presented by Procter & Gamble.   The two day event, that is recorded for national television, will be held at Atlanta’s newly built Cobb Energy Centre Friday & Saturday October 26th & 27th, 2007.   The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, which is located just north of Downtown Atlanta, at the Cumberland Mall Exit (I-75 north at the I-285 perimeter) is a 146-million dollar, state of the art facility and is Atlanta’s first new theatre in over four decades. Some of the nation’s most recognized performers are slated for the two-day musical explosion.  Thousands of Atlanta residents and national attendees are expected to attend.  The talent line-up is a who’s who of chart topping and Gospel Music Award winning performers from all over America.  Four Cable Networks and over 250 domestic TV stations are slated to air the programming later this year.  Gospel Superfest Live In Atlanta is anticipated to reach over 500 million TV households worldwide.  Key television networks slated to air Gospel Superfest programming are TBN, The Gospel Music Channel, Daystar TV Network, ION Media Network, The Word Network and ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, MYTV and CW Network affiliates in the US.  Thus continuing the historic distribution base of America’s most widely distributed gospel music TV property. “Gospel Superfest is a gift from God ” states the show’s executive producer Dr. Bobby Cartwright, Jr.  The show was conceived in 1998 and first rolled out in the year 2000.  Releasing five one-hour specials each year in domestic (US) syndication, Gospel Superfest has achieved as high as  94% US TV HH coverage in syndication (2004 – 2005) and since that time has surpassed the household distribution of most all  properties in gospel music on an annual basis.  (Source Nielsen Media Research. 2004 – 2007 NAD Ratings)  “ A play on gospel superfest is huge!  And places an artist in front of millions of TV viewers, this, on both sacred and secular TV platforms.  It is to God’s glory that we have been able to achieve such favor and success with this project!  Only He can do something like this and we take no credit or glory for his favor and anointing.”  Cartwright continues to elaborate.

The Gospel Superfest production will converge upon Atlanta this October with a star-studded array of artists. Some legends, some new comers, and some Grammy, Stellar & Dove and Soul Train Award winners who’s individual careers have been the back-bone of the gospel and R & B recording industries for many years.  This will be another duly notable presentation from the show that many say helped change and expand the landscape of gospel music television.

Friday Night Scheduled Performers: Tramaine Hawkins, The Mississippi Mass Choir, Dottie Peoples & The Peoples Choice Chorale, J. Moss, 21:03, Bishop Noel Jones’ City Of Refuge Choir, Dorothy Norwood, Melvin Williams, Regina Belle, George Huff (American Idol) Dwayne Woods and VaShawn Mitchell & Friends and several surprise guests.

Saturday Night Scheduled Performers: Howard Hewett, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr., Trin-i-tee 5:7, Ricky Dillard & New G, Rance Allen Group, Anointed Pace Sisters, Men of Standard, Bishop Neal Roberson, Norman Hutchins, Maurette Brown Clark, Kevin Davidson & The Voices, Distinguished, LaShun Pace, Tonex, Professor Wilbur Belton, and many others.

Noted Actor Clifton Davis will take the reins both nights.  Clifton will be joined by an array of celebrities, actors and gospel artists who will co-host the event both nights

Gospel Superfest Introduces “STAGE 2”

This year the show has expanded to a second stage, STAGE 2.  The Stage 2 session will take place at The Cathedral of Tuner AME Church in Marietta, GA and will feature a new talent showcase and several performances by established and up and coming recording artists.  Stage 2 performances will be incorporated in the GMC and TBN episodes as a special “back to the church” and quartet segments, States the show’s producers.  “We are keeping the show relevant to the weekly church music experience while continuing the aggressive main-stage presentations which are geared toward network TV” says Executive assistant Ms. Lissa Horne, who has worked with Dr. Cartwright (show founder) for over twelve years.  Stage 2 will be nothing but Church!” she continues.

Stage 2 will take place Saturday afternoon from 12 noon until 6:00 PM and is open to the public.  The event is sponsored by Procter & Gamble, The Cartwright Foundation and Radio One’s Praise 97.5 of Atlanta.  Two can goods are required for entry.  All can goods will be donated to a local Atlanta area charity just in time for the holiday season.  Performance slots for Stage 2 are still available.  A performance fee may apply.  Electronic submissions by artists can be submitted to [email protected].

The Main Stage Events at Atlanta’s New Cobb Energy Centre will be Spectacular!

The Supershow has assembled some of Hollywood’s top professionals for staging, lighting and directing to insure that the production remains at the forefront of the television industry.  The production staff, behind-the-camera are made up of Emmy and Oscar award winners, platinum selling studio recording engineers with over one hundred-fifty (150) years of combined television production experience.  The production will be state of the art!
