Gospel composer, musician and harp master Jeff Majors has a musical ministry with an inspirational message that touches the hearts of millions daily. Sacred Major 7th, the 7th CD in his faith-affirming, soul-stirring Sacred series, is in stores now, and his 2nd Annual National Tour for the Homeless (in progress), during which Jeff offers free performances for the homeless and distributes blankets and other items necessary for surviving life on the streets, provides healing, offers comfort and motivates change. Jeff also hosts The Gospel of Music, now in it's 5th season on TV One.

Beggar was launched nationally the first week of October and was “The #1 Most-Added Gospel Song In Its First Week – Ever!” according to Radio & Records.

Majors was inspired to write the song Beggar after meeting a homeless person on the street.  After they began to fellowship, Jeff realized that not only did he know this man, but years earlier, this man was a physics professor at Howard University. The man explained to Majors:  "I didn't plan it, life happened and sometimes you lose everything and you can't get it back."  There and then Majors decided he had to do something about the homeless and the words of this song were created along with Jeff's vision of a National Homeless Tour, which Jeff began last spring and which continues through the spring of 2008. 

Majors adds: "It was one of Gerald Levert's last recordings and he was my friend, which gives this song even more importance. Homelessness knows no boundaries, whether it's white collar or blue collar, homelessness has an effect on every class. It's not discriminatory. It is devastating to our country. We have to come together to find the answer to homelessness."
