It all began with 15,000 hopefuls, a dream and the biggest stage in America. After millions voted, a 36 year old mother of five and housewife from Detroit, MI emerged above the tremendous pressure to capture the first and only "Oprah's Pop Star Challenge."

Now a few years later, LaShell has appeared on national programs such as Good Morning America, Soul Train, E.T., TBN and The 700 Club, plus toured with Oprah Winfrey during Ms. Winfrey's four-city "Hi Gorgeous!" tour─LaShell Griffin's life will never be the same.

The national recording artist released her first solo project in 2004 titled Free. LaShell has also appeared on several compilation CDs including a TimeLife Inspirational project titled Keep The Faith which featured singing greats Yolanda Adams, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Patti LaBelle, Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore, Wynonna, Ruben Studdard and many more. LaShell has traveled the country performing and sharing the stage with the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, Mary Mary, Anita Baker, KEM, Lala Hathaway, "Babyface" Edmonds, Alicia Keys, J Moss, Fantasia and a host of others. She has performed in places that were only a dream years ago; London, England and Harare, Zimbabwe.

These days LaShell is truly living her dream having evolved from a wife and home engineer to a recording artist, model and spokeswoman for national clothing store chain Ashley Stewart. Recently LaShell celebrated in New York with the executive team and fellow "Great Women of Style" singer Jill Scott and comedian Kim Cole as the company launched its online store ashleystewart.com, "A Click Away From Fabulous." A grateful LaShell stated "I absolutely love my Ashley Stewart family. They keep me looking my best all the time."

The songbird has also become a favorite of Democratic presidential candidate and presumptive nominee, Senator Barack Obama. She has performed The National Anthem at his rallies several times. "I am extremely proud to be a part of this great history being written," said LaShell.

LaShell Griffin returns with her highly anticipated sophomore CD project emphatically declaring that Dreams Are Possible─in stores September 16, 2008. This CD is dedicated to every dreamer that has ever been told that you couldn't do it! "We must all learn to step outside the box and know that the outcome of our destiny is in our hands," proclaims LaShell. Bishop T. D. Jakes exhorts us to "Refuse to be handcuffed by the unbelief of others." Lee Griffin, LaShell's manager-husband reassures us that "Limitations manufactured by others may delay you, but only self-imposed restrictions will abort your dream."

Genesis 37:19, "And they said one to another, ‘ Behold, this dreamer cometh'". " I want to inspire every person I can to dream, but also to live their dream…Our imagination is the womb where every dream is conceived and it's time to get pregnant and have our dream baby" stated LaShell.
